Tour Diaries

WE TOTALLY LOST!

Posted August 12th, 2007 by Billy

This week was insane!

2 days to teach Lee all the songs then we played the Salt in London. We drove to Barrie right after the show which meant… no sleep!

Normally we have our Victory of the Day, which we write on the whiteboard of the Lostice (the Lost Office). Sometimes it’s something small, like a fan email or mailorder, but yesterday was EPIC.

I can’t even list or put in order all the stuff that happened. The new thing we’ve been saying is “(insert event) was totally LOST” and Warped Tour was totally LOST, meaning that we totally made the best of it.

We did an interview with the warpedtour.com pit reporter Erin Caruso and aside from me dry heaving all morning (we’re talking 4 days of no sleep and a whole lotta coffee here…hey, it happens) it went pretty well. She ended up filming our whole set which will then go up on the warped site with a blog.

Matt, Devon and Amelie. Hoooooooooly Heavens.

Speaking of the team, they were freakin fantastic. I was in London rehearsing all week but they made their own handbills and posters with a space to write out set list. They got to Barrie at 9am and as soon as I found our set time they sat in a Tim Hortons writing it on every one of the hand bills. Matt made posters and put them up on all the telephone poles down the line. Catherine from indiscover.net and Ryan fron Idle Sons actually said that when she was coming in she noticed more of our handbills then anyone elses, and that they really stood out cause they were glossy and colour. Go Team!

Huge highlight: Kevin Lyman watched our WHOLE set. Apparently as soon as Devon saw him she went right in front of him and started singing a long so that he would see. Go Team again!

After our set I did a taped radio interview with CKLU 96.7 that went awesome cause I was all stoked and Angie Anselmo asked great questions.

we’re just going through amelie’s pictures now… can’t wait to see them!

I should take this time to those of you who helped us get this amazing opportunity by voting, listening to the player and spreading the word. YOU are the reason we played Warped Tour this year. We would not have made it there without YOUR help. So pat yourself on the back and send me a bill, will ya ;)

Billy! :D

DOUBLE THE PARTY!

We are playing a show at the SALT LOUNGE in London tomorrow (friday) night, and then 12 hours later (yeah, TWELVE HOURS LATER) we are going to be given’r 110% on the Kevin Says Stage. Are you ready for this?! Are WE ready for this?!

…Obviously!

2am is a terrible time to drink rootbeer!

So….. it’s been awhile. Again. I know. We suck.

It’s going to change! I promise! I swear there will be at least weekly updates from now on. I SWEAR!

Last Thursday we played a show at the Embassy. It was our first show in a while, and it went great. Great… as in, every band kicked everyone’s asses and we could totally feel the love. Daggermouth came out from VANCOUVER (OMG!) and everyone was super stoked on seeing their set. High five! Two nights later the band played at the Salt Lounge with an awesome band called The Artist Life. These dudes are totally solid, check them out at www.myspace.com/theartistlife

SCENE FESTIVAL: Whats NOT to say? Seriously kick-ass. Thanks to everyone that came out and rocked out, everyone who TRIED to come out but failed miserably due to load outs, and everyone that said they would come out, even if they didn’t. It was one of our funnest shows yet, and once the strobe lights came out everyone knew that it was going to be a good time. Its always is. ITS BILLY AND THE LOST BOYS, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU EXPECT?! HONESTLY!

It’s exactly 2:30 am, and I’m listening to Justin Timberlake…. wait, uh… what?!

Next up we’ve got Warped Tour! I’m totally stoked on this… Bad Religion, Street Drum Corps, The Matches… okay… AND Boys Like Girls. Shut up. (This ain’t Billy by the way, its the crazy merch girl with a camera… Billy is MIA right now) The band is playing on the Kevin Says Stage, which is also sometimes called the WEST49 stage, which is ALSO called the Hot Topic Stage. Someone obviously didn’t tell it that P. Diddy did the name change game, and it’s so five years ago. Get WITH IT!

Okay snookums, I’m peacing out. XOXOOXOXOXOXOXOXOXLSDKFJKLNLKLKDLSKJFNM321

Sean

Sean.

Sean Sean Sean Sean Sean.

He is so great.

He flew out from Vancouver just to tattoo little old me. Nonstop. I’m not kidding!

Go to his shop. Drop the Needle on Robson across from Sears. And say hi to him and check out his work cause he is great. Just click here to meet him

In other news, we’re on the Kevin Says Stage at Warped Tour. Did I mention that we would not be playing Warped Tour without the Go Teamers out there? Yes, it’s true. So many good good people doing nice nice things to help us kids. Amazing. Love you tons, for realz.

Sparrow guitars has me on the main page right now, along with a gushy-mcgusherton spiel about how much I love them :) I’m not even joking. It’s pretty ridiculous and basically one run-on sentence but hey I guess it gets the point across heh heh.

Coming soon: Pictures of the new band, new demos and the revival of the tour blog! ;)
